Engagements

Caroline + Elijah, Engagement

Caroline is one of my previous senior clients who is now a wedding client, and it is so fun to be a part of this next exciting chapter in her life! Also, her fiancé Elijah is the brother of one of our previous grooms, so we just have lots of connections with this couple. :) Which makes working with them even better!

When we met to discuss wedding details and such, Caroline and Elijah told me the story of how they got engaged outside this little coffee shop in Paducah, KY, called Etcetera Coffeehouse. Of course I am a coffee person so this was just the best story, and when we talked about locations for their engagement session this was brought up as an option. I heartily agreed it would be a great place to start their session, so that is what we did! We grabbed some hot coffee and cocoa, and the baristas were kind and gave us the OK to take pictures there. We took sips of our drinks between pictures, and when we were done at the coffeehouse we drove a few blocks over to downtown where we finished out the session. There were some cobblestone-type streets and all different types of brick walls to choose from, and we ducked into an alley or two before making our way to the riverfront. I think we were frozen by then, our drinks long gone, so we decided that was a good time to finish up. :)

Congratulations you two! We’re excited to be a part of your big day coming up soon!!

Ashley + Hunter, Engagement

We had a beautiful Fall day for Ashley & Hunter’s engagement session! Our first stop was downtown Paris, TN, where we strolled around on the sidewalks and stopped at any place that caught our eye. I love the character in these antique buildings, from the churches to the little boutiques and flower shop. They made such a good background for the first half of this engagement session!
Our second location was a beautiful family farm where they hope to build their dream home someday. We drove through the cow pasture with their sweet pup June in the back, and took a few pictures with June until she decided to take a cold swim in the pond. Then she was done with pictures. ;) We finished up as the sun was setting and had gorgeous golden light for the last few photos. Best way to end a session, if you ask me!

Congratulations, Ashley & Hunter! Can’t wait to be a part of your wedding this Fall!

Amy + Jesse, Engagement

I had such a great time working with Amy and Jesse for their engagement session, and we cannot wait for their wedding to get here. Amy was actually the maid-of-honor at a wedding we photographed last year, but now she is the bride! So fun to work with them and some of their friends again.
It was an incredibly windy day for their engagement photos, but they kept smiling did absolutely great in spite of it. :) Though if it is just as sunny and half as windy on their wedding day, we’ll be okay with that I think! We went to some natural, rustic locations for their session to take advantage of the Fall scenery, and had some beautiful sunset light towards the end. A lovely couple + a pretty day + golden hour light = my favorite type of math equation.
